Sia Fights Brain Cancer

Sia is a 46 years old mother of 2 with brain cancer.
In November 2015 I suffered a seizure and was diagnosed with stage 4 Glioblastoma (GBM) the most aggressive cancer that forms within the brain. Doctors advised that a complete removal was not possible without affecting my quality of life, however the surgeon attempted to remove 75% of the tumour.
I then had weeks of chemotherapy and radiation while focusing all my time and energy into healing my body.
As time went by I celebrated my 45th birthday.
Unfortunately, in November 2017 a reoccurrence, another tumour bigger than the last had formed, (after exhausting treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and enduring three brain surgeries).
The location of the tumour is very close to nerves that control my sight, speech and mobility so doctors have ruled out any type of removal again.
Despite the news I continue to remain positive and hopeful.
The only thing left is a new Drug Treatment Therapy. The Drug costs $30,000 which isn’t subsidised and covered by the Australian Government.
My husband has taken a leave of absence from his work to support and assist me as well as take care of my children Raphael and Yianni.
Therefore, there is no regular income to pay for household bills, food and out of pocket medical costs, hence this is becoming financially challenging. The go fund me page will hopefully assist my family with easing the financial burden that this new treatment has placed on us.
