Help Southside go to Nats!

Donation protected
On May 19, 2016, twenty-two days before the National Speech and Debate tournament, Southside High School lost their debate coach.

Twelve students who have been working for years, practicing for months, and giving up their Saturdays for competitions, are now in jeopardy of being unable to attend a tournament that they rightfully qualified for.

The school has stepped up to cover much of the costs and provide chaperones. The National Speech and Debate Association has agreed to work with the team to alleviate some unexpected costs, and airlines have agreed to waive luggage fees to help these students compete. Now all we need is you.

We as alumni of Speech and Debate programs are working to raise funds to help ensure these students still get the opportunity to attend the National Speech and Debate Tournament in Salt Lake City.

All donations will be paid to Southside High School to cover remaining costs of attending the tournament. Specifically, approximately $4,600 will be used to cover hotel rooms for the students and chaperones, with remaining funds used to secure 2 SUV rentals to transport the students from hotels to competition sites.

By donating to this campaign, you'll be helping 12 students fulfill their dreams and their potential by ensuring that they are not punished for someone else's mistake. This nationally recognized team will be eternally grateful for all help given in their time of need.
