Sunrise Humane Society is raising funds for transporting 10 dogs from Florida to Michigan, Aug 25 - Aug 31.
We can't sugar coat this - Sunrise Humane Society is full. We are completely out of empty kennels and more dogs arrive every day. We have over 120 dogs on-site, waiting for homes. We can't think of what we may be forced to do if we run completely out of open kennels.
We desperately NEED YOUR HELP!
In an effort to help empty the shelter, we are partnering with a few shelters in Michigan to send 10 of our dogs north at the end of August - if we can raise the funds.
This is a HUGE undertaking that we've never attempted before, and we need all the community support we can get!
We estimate the effort will cost around $4000. This includes van rental, fuel, and essential travel expenses for the dogs and drivers for this epic 3,400-mile round-trip rescue mission.
The "Paradise Pups" will ideally depart August 25th on the biggest journey of their lives.
Any contribution to help save these dogs is so appreciated (and tax-deductible)! All funds raised beyond our goal will go towards future transport endeavors to save as many lives as possible.
We don't want this to be just a bandaid fix. Our amazing, already overworked team of volunteers are pulling out all the stops to find sustainable ways to move dogs in need on to shelters that can connect them with forever homes. This first transport isn't just a one-time deal; we are building the highway of hope for our Sunrise animals!
When you donate today, you are supporting not just one trip, but this and all future transport trips to rescue our community dogs.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
