My heart is breaking writing this...
If you know me, chances are you know my 7 year old pup Miley. She's the light of my world and the best friend I've ever had. She is the most loving dog and has made more friends throughout my college years than I ever did. Over the last few days my girl has been showing some concerning symptoms that took a turn for the worse early this morning. After sitting through multiple veterinarian clinics and hospitals throughout today, we have found out that Miley's prognosis is not what we had expected and devastating.
My sweet baby has an unknown mass in her abdomen that is surrounded by thick fluid, making it too difficult to pinpoint exactly what the mass might be on ultrasound and X-ray. We have been told the mass could potentially be cancer, a benign tumor, an abscess or some other form of blockage, but all we know for sure is that there is a major blockage that is causing a mountain of issues. Ultimately, if Miley doesn't have surgery in the next few days, the vet tells us in more proper words that we will have to take her home and just focus on quality of life for however much longer that may be - which they predict is not long.
We have been given an estimate for surgery and hospital stay that ranges from low end $4,000 and high end $6,000. Unfortunately my boyfriend Mason, myself or our immediate family do not have enough to cover all of that at this time. So I'm reaching out to anyone and everyone who might feel as though they can help us in this devastating situation. I can't live with myself knowing that I didn't do everything I could to save my baby. I would not ask for help from social media for any other reason than the beat to my heart, which is my sweet girl Miley.
Just remember that kind acts are returned to those who give so if you feel led or that you're able to help us at this time, you will be rewarded for your kindness and generosity. If you are unable to give something of monetary value PRAYERS will do more than money ever will because I know my God can work miracles, so please pray for my girl!
