Medical bills

Our daughter Kira was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis when she was 6 years old, she will be 12 in October. My husband and I have been doing our best to make sure she gets the treatment necessary. Kira's medicines cost $150 /week and she also has to go to monthly doctor appointments for her check up. Millers Childrens Hospital in Long Beach has been really good about letting us make monthly payments so she does not miss her doctors appointments. A few months ago my husband lost his job so now the bills are really piling up. Even though we get medicare they only cover a small percentage of Kira's medicine costs. In June she was supposed to have knee surgery due to her JRA but when my husband lost his job we lost insurance and had to postpone her surgery. She is such a brave little girl - dealing with her pain and taking her meds, which since what they give her is the same medicine they give chemo patients only in a lower dosage, it can still make for some miserable weekends for her. We would give anything to see her run around pain free and enjoy her childhood. We would like to pay off her medical bills and get her the knee surgery which would go a long way towards giving her back a normal childhood so she can run around and play pain free.
