Show Tim Currys Heart your Heart!

Donation protected
My name is Blythe Plunkett and I'm helping to raise money for Tim Curry with impending medical costs associated with upcoming open heart surgery, subsequent rehab, and daily expenses. In talking to Tim about wanting to help, he brought up early on wanting to donate a percentage of the monies raised to a local nonprofit. This is a sign of a selfless individual that now needs our help.

IMMEDIATE NEED:
He's scheduled to be released from the hospital in the next day or so and needs a healthier environment to call home for the next month until he goes in for surgery. In the meantime, he's working on a permanent home after the surgery. He'll need at least $2k immediately to get into a place to prepare for surgery.

ONGOING NEEDS:
Ongoing needs will be help with the approximately $8k in initial out of pocket costs for the surgery even with health insurance. There will then be costs such as medication, therapy, and follow-up appointments. He's going to miss a lot of work, so the money will also be used to pay medical insurance premiums and daily costs of living.

Every dollar helps and 100% will go to Tim's recovery. Let's help ease his mind from things he can't control so he can focus on surviving.

Tim's Story in his words:

I'm Tim, and I would like to tell you the story of how despite living a healthy lifestyle and trying to get my doctor's help I ended up in the hospital after a stroke, needing open heart surgery.

A few years ago I realized my lifestyle was wearing on me. I went about watching my carb and sugar intake and started an exercise regime with some friends. My lifestyle change was pretty complete. I was down to 238lbs (wore a size 38 pants and size L shirts), doing 4 miles of biking and walking and gym every day, and even an hour of yoga.

In 2017 I started noticing I was starting to gain weight even though I was still watching what I ate, and was having trouble exercising the way I had gotten used to, and started seeing a doctor find out what was going on.

I woke up Monday two weeks ago with a slight headache. Was about to get on a work call when I suddenly had to go lay down again. I lost all vision in my left eye, my arm went numb, my speech slurred, and I could barely walk. By grace, luckily, fortunately, however you want to look at it, my roommate's father was home to help me at that moment and got me to the hospital.

Wednesday I was starting to feel better, and then had my blood pressure crash and was transferred to Seton’s Heart Hospital downtown.

They ran a series of tests and determined that I did have a heart attack and that my heart is in advanced stages of failure. They've scheduled me for a triple bypass,  but because of all the trauma, the doctors are unsure if the surgery will fix everything. If the surgery enough, they will put in a device to help me until I can get a transplant.

With everything going on, I am unable to work and could use all the help and support I can get right now. If you want to know more, I will post updates that go more in-depth into what’s been going on with me.
