Show Mark Some Heart

Mark Swartz had a serious heart attack on September 19th while working out at the gym.  He was immediately taken to the hospital for a life-saving procedure that opened the blocked arteries to his heart.  We are so lucky that immediate medical intervention was available and that we still have Mark with us today.

Mark is a fitness buff and has probably exercised every day of his life since he was 18 years old (except when he was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Senegal).  Anyone who has the pleasure of meeting Mark immediately realizes how big his heart is and what a special person he is.  He is truly one of the kindest, most selfless, and optimistic people we know. In spite of this set back, and the fact that his life has been altered, literally overnight, Mark has managed to maintain his incredible optimism.  In fact, Mark is the one lifting our spirits when we visit him!

Mark has sustained significant damage to his heart.  However he is determined and confident that he will continue to improve and return to his normal life.  His ongoing treatment will include follow- up visits with his doctors, medications, cardiac testing and procedures, and cardiac rehabilitation; or in other words, a physical fitness program for the heart.  

Your donation will help defray Mark’s medical bills.  It will also assist with transportation costs to and from his doctors’ appointments and rehabilitation, as well as other related costs.
