In December of 2024, my mother, Olga Ramirez Rodriquez was diagnosed with breast cancer. I remember the day she called me and many others, and all she asked at the end of the convo was is if WE were okay after hearing the news. That is how selfless my mother is. Many of you who have known her throughout the years know that she would drop everything she is doing to go help you with what you’re asking. She would give you her last dollar if you were hungry, she would be at the appointment with you if you asked, given you a ride to wherever you needed to go.
With that being said, my mother is the worst at asking for help lol. So that is why I am here, asking on her behalf. She is blessed and grateful to be partially covered by Medicaid during this time due to her diagnoses, but she accrued some debt before Medicaid, as she did not have insurance at the time. There are also additional fees that she will have to pay. I unfortunately am disabled myself and will do my best to care for my mother during her surgery week, but we will rely on the help of my father John Rodriquez. This will require him to ask off a week plus of work. Finances are the last thing I want them to worry about during this stressful time. Anything at all helps. My mother would definitely appreciate prayers more than anything, as she is giving all of this to the Lord to handle.
The type of cancer my mother has is Ductal Carcinoma in situ. We are blessed to hear from her doctors that it has not spread far at all, and it will be treated aggressively so we can get ahead of it. She has a surgery date of March 10th, 2025 which is two days before her birthday. She will also undergo radiation.
As of right now, she has no idea that I am doing this. I want to shower her with the love and support that she deserves and I know many of her family members and friends would love to help. I am asking for prayers, a donation if you can right now, maybe a meal drop off the week of, or even flowers/cards on her birthday, which is March 12th. My mother is a very strong person and leans so much into her faith, but I know this has shaken her up a bit. Thank you so much, and I will be sure to update as much as possible.
