As many of you know Iris has been battling breast cancer for almost 2 years now. She came close to defeating it but unfortunately cancer spread and returned in January. After immunotherapy and chemo she wasn’t able to win this battle. She fought as hard as she could and after developing pneumonia decided to discontinue any treatments. If anyone knows Iris you’d know her faith in God and all around positive attitude about her cancer has been inspiring and she chose to leave her life in God’s hands and go home to Him. Her family is at peace with her decision. Iris is currently resting peacefully at Angel’s Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc surrounded by loved ones. 

With all this being said these last 2 years have been a struggle financially. I’m sure all of you
have eaten some of the best Tex-mex food and wings their business has to offer which has been a Waukesha favorite for over 23 years! Between all of Iris’ doctor appointments, treatments and hospital visits, set backs and the COVID-19 shutdown, The Blue Ribbon hasn’t been operating at it’s a full capacity and had only offered limited hours and occasional closures like the one they are experiencing now. I’m hoping us as a community can come together and help bless this amazing family during these trying times. No amount is too small to help this family pay for medical expenses, funeral and cremation arrangements and help them recover their business.
