Brayta is going to be a mama! She went into this process hoping and expecting one little baby and preparing her life around that expectation. However, she’s now discovered she’s expecting twins! Not only that, but there are some medical issues adding new challenges to these little blessings.
Here is a brief description of the medical issues:
· Baby B has marginal cord insertion, which means the cord attaches on the edge of the placenta and can cause growth restriction.
· Baby A has velamentous cord insertion which means the cord attaches to the edge of the placenta and the bottom section of the cord is not protected, so it is highly vulnerable to being compressed and broken, which would be catastrophic for baby.
· Baby A also has Vasa Previa which means exposed cord vessels are laying on top of the cervix. Because of both the things Baby A has, she is at risk of losing blood and oxygen.
Because of these two conditions, Brayta will be going into the hospital at 30 weeks and will be on bed rest and monitored until a C-section delivery at 34 weeks. Financially, this means she is out of work 2 months sooner than expected and will have much larger medical bills due to her lengthy stay and possible NICU stay for babies. There is a lot of fear with baby’s medical issues and the future so we would love to take the financial burden off Brayta. Please help bless her and give what you can!
