Help Jordan Recover Stolen Funds and pay medical bills

Hi, my name is Jordan. I’m 17 years old, and I’m starting this GoFundMe because I recently experienced something no teenager should ever have to go through.

A few days ago, while in Detroit with some friends, the car we were driving started overheating and we had to pull over. As we were trying to figure out what to do, a group of men walking by asked if we needed help. We were all getting a weird vibe, so we told them no. Then they stepped closer to the vehicle, so I started reaching for my pepper spray slowly. They asked two more times before pretending to walk away. As me and my friends are talking about how weird that was, they come around the other side of the car, open our doors, and pull guns on us, demanding everything we had. When I registered what was going on, I pepper-sprayed one of them. Immediately, shots were fired. My friend sitting next to me was shot in the jaw and the hand. One of those bullets went through him and hit me in the thigh. I ran for my life, but I had to drop everything to get away.

In my purse was $1,500 I had been saving for months to buy my first car. I had just gone to the bank with my mom earlier that day to try to open an account and deposit it, but they told me I couldn't since I don't have an ID, so I still had the money on me.

I'm beyond grateful to be alive but that money was everything to me. It represented my hard work and my hope for independence. Now, on top of the trauma of being shot and robbed, I’m back at square one.

I’m asking for your help not just to recover what I lost financially, but to help my mom pay medical bills ($3,000+) since I have no insurance. Anything you can give will help me cover medical/surgery bills and start saving for a car again.
