Surgery and Medical Fund

Three months ago I ended up in the ER with excruciating pain unable to walk and was eventually diagnosed with a severely herniated disc at the L5-S1 level  that is pressing directly on my sciatic nerve. After an MRI, and  three months of conservative treatment (epidurals, rest, PT, painkillers) doctors have determined that I should have a microdiscectomy to alleviate nerve damage before it becomes permanent.

This surgery involves removing the part of the disc that has become herniated so that it stops impinging on the nerve. Currently although my pain has been alleviated somewhat over time I am still unable to perform many daily activities without pain or discomfort.  I am scheduled for surgery in hopes that it will help me ultimately get back to a life without pain and back to doing the things I love.

The amount of medical bills both in and out of insurance has been extreme over the months, for both myself and my family.  The surgery itself costs $17,000. Tests, injections, doctor's visits, hospital visits have all been time-sensitive and very expensive.  ANY help you can give would be greatly appreciated. I'm thankful for all of the support, and despite everything I feel fortunate to have all of you out there!!!
