Shop With A Cop pairs Polk County students, grades K-3rd, with a law enforcement officer to shop for Christmas. The "shoppers" are chosen by their school counselors based on fiancial need, involvement in other giving programs, and overall benefit the kiddo would get from positively interacting with law enforcement.
The students are able to select their own items and often times focus on others. In recent years, a little guy chose 2 large lasagnas for his family, and beamed with pride as he checked out with all his items. The opportunity to collaborate with our youngest citizens makes a life-long impact, as shared recently by an adult, who said she still remembered her "cop" from 15 years earlier. Certainly it is hard to figure out who is having more fun... the officer or the kiddo!?
Help us continue to positively impact our community in a HUGE way!
Our Shop With A Cop goal for 2017 is to serve 200 students from: Humansville, Pleasant Hope, Halfway, Morrisville, Fair Play, and Bolivar Public Schools. 100% of the donations will stay in Polk County for this specific program. A donation by December 10th will ensure the funds can be used for this year's Shop With A Cop program.
