Shofar Trust
It is with a sad and heavy heart that we reach out to you for support for a special family. Malcolm Siegel passed away on October 14th at age 40, from an extremely aggressive form of cancer, that took his life in just 8 short weeks. This was a devastating shock for his family and his entire community.
Malcolm was a multi-talented human being whose incredible zest for life, communal involvement and love for his family was evident to all. But above all, Malcolm was a dedicated husband to his beloved wife Nadia, and a devoted father to his beautiful children, Carmiya (11) and Eliel (8).
So many people have thought or asked how they can now help Nadia and the kids navigate the challenging road ahead. We have established ‘The Shofar Trust’, the aim of which is to support Nadia and the children both in the immediate future – and into the longer term.
In Malcolm's absence we would like to help Nadia and the children as best as we can, and if you feel the same, we ask you for your support. With your help, we can, not only ensure that the family can get through this unimaginable period of hardship, but also that there will be ongoing financial support for Nadia and for the upbringing and education of the children for many years into the future.
The Shofar Trust has been registered with the Master of the High Court in South Africa, with a Trust Deed and a dedicated Bank account to ensure that all funds collected are governed and audited according to the strictest legal and accounting standards.
The Shofar Trust was established by Tamara Klein (San Diego) and Kim Siegel (London), Malcolm's sisters as well as close friends of Malcolm and Nadia. All funds raised will be used to cover the family's future needs including school and university tuition and any unexpected expenses.
The Trustees of the Shofar Trust have authorised this Gofundme platform. All funds raised will be transferred to the Trust to be administered by the Trustees for the benefit of Nadia, Carmiya and Eliel Siegel who are the beneficiaries of the Trust.
