Shoei you can do it

 “Hi! My name is Shoei Blue. I am the most lovable, loyal and friendly blue nose Pitbull you will ever meet. I love to swim, hike and chasing my dad while he is riding his dirt bike. My dad, Troy, went to visit his Grandparents over the Christmas holiday and left me and my brother, Burton, at a trusted friend’s house. We were all having a great time until this past Monday when another dog attacked me. I was taken to the Animal Urgent Care Hospital where I was diagnosed with 4 to 5 severely infected bacterial bite wounds that had spread to the muscles and soft tissue of my front left leg. The doctors immediately opened the wounds and inserted 3 drainage tubes to try to drain the infection out. I had to stay overnight, which I was not happy about. When I was discharged, I was placed on several different medications to help with pain and kill the infection.

Sadly, I had to be hospitalized again on Thursday because the swelling had not gone down, and the drainage tubes needed to be removed. The doctors said the infection had gotten worse and infection was eating away at my muscles. They requested to keep me overnight again, reopen the wound, flush me full of fluids and IV antibiotics in an effort to save my leg. I have to go back to the Animal Urgent Care Hospital everyday to have the bandages removed and reapplied. On Monday, I have an appointment with a dog orthopedic surgeon to evaluate my leg and determine whether they will be able to save my leg.

I am in need of significant long term wound care. The doctors are saying it could be months before my wounds heal, if they are able to save my leg.

I know times are “RUFF” for everyone with this pandemic thing going on and some of you may not be working. So far, my medical bills are over $4000.00 and we – me and my Dad – need all the help we can get.
