Shoe Plus Looting Support Fund

On Sunday May 31st, two of Shoe Plus storefronts in North Philadelphia were looted all day in what resulted in total loss of both stores.

Shoe Plus is a pair of family-owned small shoe businesses that happen to be owned by our dear friends Grace and Jason Lee's family, who are Korean immigrants. Both businesses were already closed due to Covid-19 but took a bigger hit from the looting. It broke our hearts to hear that the stores may not open again due to the damages and loss of inventory, and to see the dreams of hardworking immigrants shatter.

Although we do not personally know the estimate of the losses/damages incurred during the looting, we want to help restore hope for Grace and Jason's family during this devastating time.

Please consider supporting and all funds raised will go directly to the family to get them back on their feet.

I currently only have pictures of one of the stores due to the difficulty of maneuvering through the city with the protests going on. However, I will post updates as soon as I can.

If you have any questions or would like to connect with the family, feel free to contact me! There is also an option to send donations directly to the family through Venmo - @graceunjilee

Thank You!
