Single Mom, Car Troubles
2020 has a crap year. Even moreso when you are a single parent, working in a hospital (on a COVID unit, no less) during the pandemic. You would think working full time would mean I had the funds to save for emergencies, rather than that go to: "live life and pray nothing could possibly go wrong" plan. But, alas, between rent, bills, food, and childcare (because there is no school and I still have to work), I pretty much just pray for my paycheck to keep gas in my car. So, this morning, when my car wouldn't start, I arrived at a full blown panic. I can't afford for my car to go to a shop. I can't afford to even buy parts and risk destroying my car to replace things myself. My car insurance will cover a tow to a shop, but not anything beyond that. I need my car fixed, I need it soon, and it will be March before I have enough in my account to pay for both this and my regular expenses like food and rent. Can you please help a poor, single, essential mom who spends every cent on taking care of her kids?
