Shirley's MEDLIFE Trip: Peru

Dear Friends and Family,
This summer, I have the opportunity to serve the underprivileged in Lima and Cusco, Peru by way of medical clinics and community outreach through an organization called MEDLIFE. Myself and about 25 other students from UC Berkeley will be in Peru from May 23rd-June 7th working alongside MEDLIFE staff, doctors, and volunteers.
"Our mission is to help families achieve greater freedom from the constraints of poverty, empowering them to live healthier lives. Our patients did not choose to be poor, but they have chosen to strive toward a better life; MEDLIFE stands beside them in this pursuit.
We aim to achieve this goal through partnering with motivated individuals in poor communities working to improve their access to MEDs: Medicine, Education and community Development. MEDLIFE believes access to quality healthcare is a basic human right.
To this end, we commit our time, resources, knowledge and hope to bring Medicine, Education and Development to Low Income Families Everywhere."
Of course, we would not be able to do what we do without the generous donations from our supporters, and we so appreciate your donation. These donations not only fund my personal trip to Peru (including transportation cost, food and housing while I am abroad), but are also used to fund the trip as a whole (including medical supplies, and other necessities that go toward the communities in Cusco and Lima).
