Shirley Torres' Medical Fund

With the permission of Shirley, I have created this campaign to help raise funds for her in this trying time.

Shirley is the sweetest, most positive person I've met. Even through this trial that she has been given, she has been nothing but positive. 

A few weeks ago, Shirley found it difficult to get up without dizzing spells. She felt nauseous and drove to the hospital and received a CT Scan. The scan detected an abnormal mass sitting in the area of her brain where her senses are. The tumor is benign, however, her doctor still needs to make a sound decision on how to move forward. Currently, Shirley is on steroids to reduce the swelling in her head. Since it is also a rare tumor, her doctor has sent her for more testing to make sure that the plan of care is the correct one. Her neurosurgeon plans to take her case for an opinion to the "tumor board" at the hospital. Currently, Shirley is at home, but the tumor is already affecting her voice, hearing, and eye sight. Shirley is also a single mom and cannot rely on her livelyhood as of now to support herself or her family. Since Shirley recently started a new job, her insurance has been difficult to implement and navigate. 

Please consider helping Shirley. The funds raised from this will help towards medical bills, providing for her son, rent, etc. Any bit helps. If you cannot provide financially, there are other ways that Shirley may need help: rides to the doctor, home cooked meals, etc. If you would like to provide that way, please let me know and I can connect you.
