School projects Zimbabwe


Hello, 

My name is Claes, from Sweden with a close connection to Zimbabwe, a country I have spent a lot of time in during the past 20 years. I have supported different local initiatives during these years, always with aim to support children and the importance of education being available for all. Now I have earmarked two schools, Mudavahnnu school for children with learning difficulties and downs syndrom and Lutheran Nursey Mkoba. 

Both schools struggles to keep up with looking after both children and staff at their premises, the township Mkoba has recently been hit with outbreaks of cholera and typhoid due to water supply being limited to 1 hour per household per day. 

Mudavahnu school is one of the few ones in the entire country looking after children with learning difficulties,  most of the kids stay at the school as borders fulltime, this means more need for all the basics as food, hygenical products and as well as staff looking after them, I admire so much the people who works at this school, and the children are totally amazing and they deserve the same chance as all kids to learn skills and how to make a living the they grow up.

Lutheran Nursery, in the middle of the township, a school once build by Swedish missionaries. Same here, amazing staff and teachers, the children, a joy! But one class room for two classes. A so called kitchen that now has been banned
by the authorities so the school has to let the children leave at 12 since they are no longer allowed to serve food. 

My aim is to raise enough money so we can build one more class room, a new kitchen and a dining room for the
nursery.
