Shining our lights of love for Wendy

In the true spirit of yoga, here is an opportunity for us to lend a hand of support to our beloved Wendy Mallett Lantis, who over the years has given so much of her time and loving energies for so many of us. Wendy recently underwent her second Vitrectomy surgery, which is a procedure to repair a macular hole in the back of her eye. The first surgery in her right eye last September resulted in a success; so far, all signs following her very recent second surgery suggest that eventually her sight in both eyes will be fully restored. 

As you can imagine, though, two significant surgeries in less than a year have impacted more than just her vision. Unable to work with impaired vision, Wendy has had to cover the high cost of health insurance on her own. With a deductible of $11,000 last year and $12,000 this year, her out of pocket cost for these surgeries is currently well over $18,000, plus the cost of three sets of very expensive eyeglasses due to her prescription changes, as well as the myriad supplies necessary for post-surgical care.

Wendy has shared that it is her hope to not only fully regain her vision, but to use this experience to help others who are also going through challenges with their vision and struggling with life's perpetual changes.

And if you know Wendy, you also know she’s the type of trouper who wouldn’t likely ask others for any financial assistance, even while offering her yoga classes for free for so many years. Now, we’ve got an opportunity to support Wendy in dealing with this financial burden as she continues to heal and regain her sight.
