Shining a Light on Men's Physical & Mental Health
Expert Trades is working in partnership with Ledlenser to help shine a light on Men's Health in the construction industry; an industry made up of 87% of men.
Why is raising awareness so important?
- Men are 50% less likely to seek medical attention than women
- In the construction industry, men are 3x more likely to die by suicide than the national average for men (17 per 100,000), who are 3x more likely to die by suicide than women
- Two-thirds of construction workers believe there is a stigma surrounding mental health which stops them from talking about it
These are just some of the unfortunate statistics surrounding men's health in the UK construction industry.
All funds raised will be distributed evenly across each of these 4 incredible charities, each of which supports improving men's physical and mental health:

- Band of Builders
- Movember
- Mates in Mind
