Shine On Philippine Fundraiser

Hello! My name is Nicole Price and I am raising money to send solar lanterns to a remote area in the Philippines.

The Challenge
Do you ever think about less fortunate people who live in areas that need help but are too difficult to reach? 
I have found an area at the northern tip of  the island of Luzon in the Philippines where a few thousand people live and  do not receive help from nonprofit organizations or multiple church groups because of their location. This area can only be accessed by flying into Manila then driving by truck for 10 hours on dirt roads to reach the people living in villages outside of Vigan City.  There is only 10% electricity available and that is for schools and government buildings only.
One solar lantern will provide enough light for an entire household to share for 12 hours every day. For just $6 you can provide one solar lantern for a family. My goal is to provide 1,000 households with a lantern.

The Benefit
Children will be able to complete their homework and increase their study hours, while adults can finish their work and medical treatment can be administered at night.

Distribution
How will the lanterns get to the families? The manufacturer is located in China and will ship your lantern(s) to the Philippines where they will be picked up by a local church organization who will distribute them to each household.

Goal
My goal is to raise $6,348.00 to provide one solar lantern to each family which equates to 1,000 households. Once my goal has been reached, then my project will be finished!
