Shimmey Fluff Kitty-Struck by Car

Shimmey is the most wonderful girl kitty. We have sat as companions together for 7 years and I believe we regard one another as "our spirit animal." We hold a dear, special connection. We've headbutted over a million times, been there for one another, danced, played outside, we love one another very much and so does the rest of the world. She's a treasure. She's a flirt. She's smart and sassy. She's a healer. She loves you. If you've met her, you know she's a game changer.
Last night Mary and I got home from Last Thursday to hang out with Shimmey outside. She was affectionate and happy to see us, we talked and petted her(even took pictures of her, seen on this page). Across the street there was a guy displaying signs of difficulty. So Mary and I decided to bring the man water as he lay on the side of brick. Then we learned he was rude, didn't appreciate the water and was talking down to us. Shimmey brushed up against me, I petted her once and said "Shimmey what are you doing over here? You never go across the street." She then darted back across the street towards home and...a car hit her. It hit her back area at about 30mph. This is the worst thing I've ever seen, heart sank....
Shimmey ran back towards us ending up under the neighbors house stairs. We spent ahwile trying to get her out with the neighbors of the home who supplied gear. The random guy we brought water too said "she's going to die tonight." I told him to "get out of here." Looking under the stairs, her tongue was out, she was panting and bleeding on the face. Shimmey eventually chose to get out on her own and Jullian grabbed her. We drove to DoveLewis animal ER, staying till the early morning crying and hoping for head butts.
Shimmeh has four fractures in her hips and pelvis with a imbalance of her hip and leg socket. She needs surgery for her to have a life. The surgery alone is going to cost $6,000-$8,000 after we've already paid a hefty amount for diagnostics and need to anticipate check up charges. The veterinary is expensive.

Shimmeh deserves a chance, she's got a ton of love and the doctors say after healing she should be able to function like a healthy kitty. She's alive now, let's keep her this way!!!
If all goes well, during recovery she'll need lots of TLC and will reside in a cage for 2-3 months. Juan Carlos and I welcome you to visit and see this lover of the world. She's the best.
