Steven Robert Shileikis passed away December 1, 2020 at the age of 42.
He was the loving husband of Jamie for 18 years; cherished father of Jayden and James; devoted son of Robert and Christine; cherished brother of Jennifer (Scott) Gingras and Matthew (Mary) and uncle of Keegan, Gavin, Collin, Charlotte, Benjamin, and Josephine; dear grandson of Geri Shileikis; cherished son-in-law of Linda (late Randy) Parkes and brother-in-law of David. Steven also leaves several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Steven Robert was born in Long Beach, California on May 16, 1978 to Robert and Christine Shileikis. Shortly after birth, Steven’s family moved to Michigan and settled in Redford. He grew up in a close-knit family, often camping with his grandparents at Amber Woods. Steven graduated from Redford Union High School in 1996 and went onto hold a few jobs before finding himself working at Gardner White. It was at Gardner White that Steven met Jamie Parkes. The couple dated for three years before tying the knot on August 31, 2002, lovingly officiated by Jamie’s father, Randy. The couple’s love grew with the birth of their first son, Jayden. They were blessed years later with their second, James.
Steven loved Detroit sports and was a die-hard Detroit Lions fan, regardless of the season. He was a Star Wars fanatic and watched movies religiously. Steven appreciated the time he spent with his family, frequenting Frankenmuth and the Great Wolf Lodge. Thrill rides were also a favorite, making Cedar Point the go-to attraction. Steven enjoyed helping with his son Jayden’s baseball team and playing video games whenever he could.
Steven loved his children and nieces and nephews. He was a happy and cheerful man. Steven’s love and kindness will be missed by his family and friends.
Steven’s family will receive friends on Sunday, December 6th from 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home: Canton Chapel, 851 N. Canton Center Rd., Canton. His Funeral Service will be Monday, December 7th, at 11:30 a.m. at Connection Church, 3855 S Sheldon Rd, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations to Steven’s family are appreciated.

Steven leaves behind wife Jaimie, sons Jayden (16) and James (7), his mother (Christine) and father (Robert), together with many other family members, and two dogs.
Steven will be missed by his family, friends and work family, for amongst other things, his quick wit and sense of humor.
Steven has battled with his health for many years, including two different organ transplants, and is now in a better place. The loss of Steven will obviously be a huge strain on the family, both emotionally and financially and this fundraiser is being set up to hopefully help the family work through some of the financial impact of Steven’s loss.
Taking care of Steven has taken a toll on the family and they could really use the help. The Holiday season is surely to be a difficult one for the family.
