Hello Again!! Two years ago I began this quest, to move from an infested and dilapidated house that I've been living in for over a decade.
I live with a chronic health condition called "Common Variable Immunodeficiency". My body does not have the ability to make monoclonal B cells, or the memory cells that create antibodies leaving me susceptible to infections and cancers.
In the last year I was diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma and successfully battled it into remission. I also fought a nasty staph infection that required surgery to remove the infected jaw bone. I am currently receiving IVIG infusions every three weeks. All of these situations combined have seriously limited my work hours. Work is now seriously limited at my job until next year, currently I am getting 10 to 15 hours a week.
My financial and health situation will make it nearly impossible for me to make this move without the help from my compassionate community who began this journey with me so long ago.
Here is an update on my progress:
Well I finally found a decent apartment that will accept my Section 8 voucher!! And thanks to the donations from last year I was able to secure it, those funds were used for the security deposit.
My current lease does not end until September 30th, so in order to hold onto this apartment I will need to pay the bills for both residences for the next two months. If I did not jump on this amazing opportunity now, I would have had to wait yet another year to move quite possibly losing this chance for good.
So I am putting this gofundme campaign out there again in hopes of raising the remaining funds that will be used to cover the full rent on the new apartment for August and September, until my current lease expires. The full rent at the apartment is 695.00 plus electric and gas. I know I am asking a lot as so many are struggling just to make ends meet. In October my Section 8 will pick up a large portion of the rent and I will be in a better place financially and mentally.
Please, every little bit counts and we don't have that far to go to reach this goal AND the free me from having to live in substandard conditions no one should have to live in. If you can help, please do, if you can't please share this with others who might be able to help.
