Shhh... Don't Tell Jesse!

Donation protected
Jesse is the type of person who is uncomfortable talking about himself or his needs to even his closest friends and family. He is one of those people who puts everyone else's needs ahead of his own and the idea of asking for money is something he would never be okay with. In fact, he will probably disown me for doing this.

As some of you may know, Jesse was in a horrific motorcycle accident Monday 9/11. He was found unconscious at the scene of the accident with life threatening injuries. He has no recollection of any events from that day including details surrounding the accident. Jesse regained consciousness later at the hospital and after many tests they discovered that he broke his neck (C6 and C7), crushed his pelvic bone, and broke both arms. He was admitted to the ICU and Tuesday evening he endured 5 hours of surgery on his pelvic bone and arms. Wednesday he was moved to the Ortho/Neuro floor of the hospital. He currently needs 24-hour intensive care and rehabilitation. When I say intensive, it is currently more than the hospital nursing staff can manage alone. Laura and our Mother have taken amazing care of him, meeting his needs minute by minute. I am blown away by their unconditional love and the servant heart they have displayed caring for him. I am so proud to call them my family.

When Jesse is discharged from the hospital (days or weeks from now) he will be moved to an inpatient care facility. He will endure months, maybe even a year or more, of intense physical therapy, before he will be able to return home with the assistance of home health and a hired part-time nurse. He is in constant excruciating pain that he has yet to find relief from. We do not know yet the extend to which his neck injury will effect his ability to use parts of his body, but best case scenerio he will have to re-learn how to sit, stand, walk, and use his arms.
With these injuries there is no way of knowing when or if he will be able to return to work and provide for himself and Laura. Meanwhile, his bills will continue to come like clockwork, not to mention the medical expenses that he will accrue. I am setting up this go fund me page in response to the many requests from co-workers, friends, and family wishing for ways to help.

However, there is a catch... Shh... DON'T TELL JESSE! To ensure that Jesse does not shut us down, I will not tell him about the page or share the comments that will be posted here with him until our goal is reached. Please help me keep this a secret so that little by little we can all come together to help him in a life changing way. With that said, please help me meet this goal, because I have never been good at keeping secrets from my big brother!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
-Emily (his baby sister)

P.S. Jesse, when you read this, I'll give you a few months to hate me, but please don't hate me forever, I love you more than you will ever know.
