Sherry's Hip Tumor Removal Fund

I am doing this page to hopefully help my sister. She has a tumor on her hip that has spread down her thigh and into her back. The doctors know how to help her, but the problem is the insurance company keeps denying the surgery. The surgery gets denied because it is a rare condition called Dercums disease which is where your body grows painful tumors. She has had this for just over 3 years. She has jumped through many hoops trying to get the insurance company to help her, to no avail.  The surgeon has recommended we try liposuction on the area because the recovery time is 3-6 weeks, vs. a more invasive surgery which would require a 3-5 month recovery time, and tubes and wound care. Insurance would not even cover that because it is so rare there is no proof or evidence to show that it would eliminate her pain. They are paying for a walker and paying for many pain pills and muscle relaxers, but not willing to cover a possible fix to the problem. She has an 8 year old daughter that cries and cries watching her mom in so much pain. My sister can't do normal everyday things, can't enjoy outings with family. Her quality of life has really been affected. Her anxiety level is so high because at 39 years old having to use a walker and being so afraid that people will bump her hip is more than she can bear. The sooner the better for my sister to get this care. We are out of other options at this point. I really would like to have my sister back and I know that her husband and daughter would love to enjoy her playing and laughing again. This letter is from my niece she wrote it after my sister got denied the 4th time from the insurance company.
