Sheridan-Shanghai Cultural Exchange

Donation protected

Hello and thanks for taking a look at our campaign!

Our names are Noah Beemer (Windsor, ON), Emma Burke-Kleinman (Toronto, ON), Michael Derworiz (Prince Albert, SK), Jill Goranson (Red Deer, AB), and Kelsi James (Coquitlam, BC). We have just completed our third (and second to last!) year in the Honours Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance program at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario. This June, 2018, the five of us are fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in Theatre Sheridan’s fourth annual cultural exchange, spending three and a half weeks in China to further strengthen our exciting international partnerships. The trip focuses on learning and international collaboration in musical theatre and we are incredibly excited to be able to celebrate our art form across the globe.

We are looking forward to teaching and working with the music theatre students at the Vanke Bilingual School in Shanghai, visiting cultural centres, theatres and universities in Shanghai and Beijing, meetings and masterclasses with Chinese theatre practitioners, exposure to another culture to broaden our perspectives and effect our outlooks of the world as people and artists.

A trip of this nature is a once in a lifetime opportunity, so we are fundraising to help make it a reality. The money from this campaign will aid us in offsetting a lot of important costs of the trip. Your kind donation will enable us and future Theatre Sheridan Interns to be part of the growing relationship between Sheridan and China; any surplus funds raised will be contributed to next year’s cultural exchange.

We are hoping to reach our goal by June 20th, 2018 - any donation is greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for your support!

The Interns of 2017 had such an incredible experience last year, thanks to a lot of support, and we hope to, as well:
