If you find a path with no obstacles, it probably doesn't lead anywhere. Sometimes your only available transportation is a leap of faith.
My daughter spent her entire life dreaming of her wedding, and the last 7 months planning the perfect day. When she chose Puerto Rico as the destination for her 11/11/17 wedding, we never expected Hurricane Maria to possibly alter that plan. Nothing has gotten us through this more than a lot of prayer and faith. The wedding planner was able to confirm her dream wedding will go on as planned.
We cannot and do not feel comfortable celebrating with all the devastation Hurricane Maria has caused. It is heartbreaking to know many of the residence have lost everything; because of that, we (both Shelton and Watson) have begun a campaign to raise money.
All money raised will go towards purchasing food, supplies, water, toiletries, etc. that can be safely transported when we visit the island. On Sunday 11/12/17, family and friends attending the wedding will deliver all donated goods, along with any additional money, in the name of Shelton/Watson Family and Friends, as a humanitarian effort.
Please assist us with meeting our goal to help several families in need and any amount is greatly appreciated. If you were once coming, and are no longer able to celebrate with us on the island, please consider donating one nights hotel cost to the effort. The families in Puerto Rico need our help!
Thank you and God bless,
The Shelton and Watson Families
