Shelton Kaleikaumaka Hayes Recovery

Donation protected
Shelton Kaleikaumaka Hayes has never had a sick day in his life. In June, 6 years ago, he fell ill and after several close calls of losing him, was diagnosed with Lupus. This battle has left him with only 25% usage of his kidneys.  Although he undergoes 3 times a week rounds of dialysis, his outlook on life has been great, spending his time with his wife, Jennifer aka "Kawehi" and 2 daughters , Kawainohia age 6, and Kealomahina age 3, and his family.

Recently, on Sept 9th, already dealing with ongoing challenges of the effects of dialysis, he was struck with a major setback with bleeding in his brain. He was medivac'd to Kaiser Hospital on Oahu,  doctors drilled a hole in his skull to drain the blood that had collected. The cause of the bleeding was not known.

He returned home Monday, Sept 12th but by Weds, not feeling well, was medivac'd again. This time there was swelling, and he underwent two brain surgeries. The first to remove most of a massive infection, the second to remove additional skull to allow room for the swollen brain.

He remains in Kaiser as he tries to regain movement and speech from paralyzation. The doctors say this will be a long road to recovery, and that his condition is very serious, adding that his delicate kidneys complicates things. The doctors are seeing additional fluid forming and are contemplating another surgery.

He is surviving hour by hour, day by day, and is fighting the best he can. His strength has been his family, although because of work and school they're separated.

Although she has not asked or expects any help, I humbly ask for her:
 - PRAYERS for his healing
 - any monetary donation
 - any Hawaiian Air mileage points to support travel for her and her two children

All monetary donations will help pay for his medical expenses and any expenses that have occurred because of his unexpected hospitalization.

Thank you very much for any donation!!
