"Shelter" Project for Mercy House

For several years my family and I have helped to contribute to a ministry known as Mercy House. http://mercyhousekenya.org/about/history As many of you know, girls (daughters) are very close to mine and Beth's heart. Everyday in Kenya, girls are left homeless and abandoned because they became pregnant before marriage. They are left on the street to their own devices. No help. No shelter. No food. No one to care for them or their babies. This has resulted in many abortions. Many times these abortions have not only taken the lives of the children involved but that of the mother as well. It is the goal of Mercy House to make sure these actions are a thing of the past. Founder Kristen and husband Terrell, have taken in these young ladies. They have given them shelter, food, love education and the hope of the Gospel all while helping to raise the babies! It is continually on my family's heart to help this amazing ministry.
This leads me to the Genesis of something that has been on my heart for quite some time now. Over the course of the past 10 years I have had the privilege of writing and sharing new worship music for others. I have been asked many time where others might find and purchase these songs. Unfortunately, with a life full of fatherhood and full time ministry these songs never made it to an album. That all can change starting this year with your help. This however is NOT just a chance to listen to or buy new music. It is a chance to contribute to change in this world for God's kingdom. We can listen and praise God all day but if our feet are not moving in missions and faith, our faith is dead. (James 2:26)
The questions started to arise in my heart. "What can I do?" "How can I help in a way that is long lasting?" The answer we came to is music. Music reaches all corners of the world. It is spoken in every nation. It changes lives! We have that music as a gift from God we can contribute.
The plan:
I am looking to record an album of music from songs written and sung over the last decade in worship. This album is tentatively titled "Shelter" and will include songs such as Open Arms, May I Have Faith, Shape Me, My Hero, Whole Again, Prayer for a Church, and a new song titled Shelter, all RECORDED AND SOME RERECORDED! EVERY cent made from the purchase of this album will go to Mercy House! You will be making a difference for Christ and in the lives of others!
Getting started and how you can help:
We have started a donation page at GoFundMe.com. Here, you will have the opportunity to donate to this album so it can be made. The goal is to raise 15K. This include all the costs associated with making the record. (Musicians, producer, travel, food, hotel, photo shoot, design everything) Each person who donates will receive a mention inside the sleeve of the record in the "Thank you" section.
I cannot do this without you! It may take a VERY long time before we reach this goal. That is OK! God's goodness and grace is worth waiting on. What I require from each contributor to this album will be not only financial support but LOADS of prayer. This is a work of love and faith by the people of God working together. It is not for the glorification of David Davis or his music. It is just simply an act of God's people showing Christ's love. I would love for you to join me on this journey.
