Shelly Wadas Memorial Nursing Scholarship

Shelly Denise Wadas, 56, of Corpus Christi, Texas a gifted Nurse and a daughter of Kansas, passed away on September 8th, 2019 in Harlingen, Texas.
This ended her 10 year-long journey with cancer.
In 2009 she was diagnosed with uterine cancer. She fought hard through chemotherapy and radiation and her cancer went into remission. Unfortunately, her body was ravaged by the medications it took to force cancer into remission. She was not able to return to the nursing job she loved after she finished treatment.
Shelly was a woman who loved her friends profoundly and without restraint; she will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
Please consider donating to establish a nursing scholarship in her name at her nursing alma mater, Del Mar College. No donation is too small. The funds will go to benefit a nursing student in need. This will honor Shelly's memory and is a benefit to the community of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Shelly was a second mother to me. She often would text to check in when I was having a bad day. It was like she could feel a shift in the universe and knew she needed to check on me. She was instrumental in supporting me when I got homesick and that support continued until her life ended unexpectedly on Sunday night. With your help, more young nurses can feel financial support in Shelly's honor.
