I have just lost my job that I'd only had for a year. I spent the 14 years prior, trying to gain employment which, is not an easy task for people with disabilities in Canada. 51% of disabled adults in Canada, are jobless. I am educated and skilled but, find it extremely difficult to gain employment due to societal bias (missconception of abilities of the disabled).
In order to create my own income, I used an inheritence to open and run a business for two, of those 14 years and had to close down when my funds were depleted.
I will be homeless at the end of August 2017 due to loss of job and lack of savings. I have no family to tturn to or to stay with as my only parent has passed away.
I feel I've done everything right in life to have been successfully employed, I've jumped through the same hoops any able bodied person has and I've spent much of my life attending to other peoples needs.
I am looking for enough funds to help me and my little pug family of two, through one months worth of expenses. We, my pugs and I would be extremely grateful for your help. I know I would not survive on the streets as a disabled person and it would not be fair to my pug boys. I have cared for my boys, lovingly for 5 years, they are my only family, they are my world.
You can rest assured, I have never touched a non prescribed drug in my life and I have no addictions. I have in the last two weeks sent out over 50 job applications, been to job fairs and been in touch with job searching/placement organizations. I am pulling out all the stops to correct my situation.
Please help me for the next month.
My sincerest, thanks.
