Shelby and Ken Rickelman have both tested positive for COVID-19 following exposure through his job as a first responder.
Shelby has been battling Lyme disease and other serious health problems for more than 10 years now. All of the progress she made is now at risk due to this virus, and we are all concerned about her health and ability to recover.
She and Ken are both currently bed ridden, with intense COVID-19 symptoms, and doing their best to rest and do what they can from home to avoid being hospitalized.
This fund will supplement both Shelby and Ken's lost income during this time. It will not only help to cover their housing expenses, but additionally make it possible for Shelby to take all of the steps laid out by her Lyme doctors and kick the COVID-19 ASAP. There are many medications and supplements she is taking specifically to fight COVID-19, in addition to the many many treatments for Lyme and its co-infections.
It is entirely possible that this diagnosis will undo all of the progress that Shelby has made in battling Lyme, and that she will may need to be hospitalized. This will likely have very long term impacts on her health and ability to support her medical costs.
