Dear friends,
(*PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR CURRENT, IMPORTANT UPDATES!*)
My name is Rachel Chestnut and I am humbly asking for help for my daughters Shelby and Jordan to be reunited.
Shelby is 22 years old, almost 23, and has a rare genetic disorder called Aicardi-Goutieres syndrome. AGS affects the brain, muscles, skin, GI system, bones, muscles, feeding difficulties among many other things. Often also resulting in Scoliosis resulting, as it has for both Shelby and her brother Benjamin who also has this rare disorder, in a very invasive and painful spinal fusion surgery. They have both had may other surgeries due to AGS, feeding tubes, spinal, mutltiple hip surgeries and countless other procedures.
Both of my 2 special needs children, Shelby and Benjamin, 21, currently live under the guardianship of her father.
Shelby has stated that she wants to live with her Mom and Sister Jordan and visit Dad. Benjamin has chosen to stay with Dad for now and visit us. I think this is a reasonable solution to giving my children what they have decided at 21 and almost 23.
I am humbly asking help to work towards our goal. Every dollar helps.
With gratitude and love, Rachel, Shelby and Jordan.
Thank the Lord I’ve had the help and support of my children’s family, their loving Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends who have become family. We are Team Kids, and our main motivation is my childrens happiness and giving them the ability to make choices for themselves.
Also I am so thankful to God for the love and support of my own family who live far away in miles but not in spirit, A loving Grandfather, my Dad, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, second cousins and family friends.
I am humbly asking help from anyone who feels moved to do so. Bills, legal fees and other costs that exist to get my daughter back are piling up.
Thank you for reading and any support you might be able to offer. Every dollar adds towards Shelby and my goal to have her living back with her Mommy and sister.
For anyone who wants to help, but are hesitant about platforms like GoFundMe, because they do take a small percentage of the donation, to keep the platform afloat, feel free to donate directly to me through PayPal, Venmo or even Apple pay or Zelle. Every cent adds up! Thanks again!
With gratitude and love,
Rachel Chestnut.
