Treatment not covered by OHIP!

My wife Arlene has recently been diagnosed with an extremely rare auto immune disease that destroys her red blood cells. She has already had blood 8 transfusions and is now scheduled to receive 2 per week. The treatment is a course of intravenous medications once a week for a total of 4 weeks. The treatment was started immediately. This is great news. Unfortunately this medication is not covered by our OHIP or by our private Green Shield cover. The estimated cost of the medication will be in excess of $20,000.00. Arlene has been hospitalized as her blood count could not be kept above 70. This is considered the level at which a transfusion is necessary. These funds will help to provide Arlene with the life saving treatments, and home with her family. If you can help...Thank You.
