Give Shaz & kids a Goldie break!

This is a go fund me page for my cousin Sharon and her 3 kids, Phoebe, Will and Chris, to enjoy a once in a lifetime worry free holiday on the Gold Coast to celebrate Sharon's 50th birthday in 2018. 

Everyone in this story is a beautiful warrior who has faced tough odds with grace and resilience. But grace and resilience don't get you time out to relax with your loved ones, and that's where you can help. 

First up Sharon, my cousin, has battled rare bone cancer at age 11 and survived thanks to radical surgery (amputation) . In the face of this she trained with the paralympic swimming team . She's since survived a brain tumour. She's now lucky enough to be mother to 3 beautiful children : Phoebe, Will and Chris.

Sharon is also happens to be a single mum now full time in a wheelchair to 3 beautiful children with significant special needs.

Phoebe is an amazing young woman, mature beyond her years, rockin' the drums, aceing agri school and abley supporting her mum through some tough times. It's a lot to ask of a teenager.

Will is a charismatic young man and Chris is a cheeky 9 year old soul who will get a smile out of you within 2 minutes of meeting him. Chris has Angelman  syndrome , is non verbal , and requires a wheelchair for mobility and 24/7 care.

Sharon cares for her kids and has also spent the last 20+ years working part time to support her family, for starters! 

There's a lot more to their story that is difficult for this family, but you'll never meet a family unit more supportive of each other.

What they haven't  had the chance to do is take a family holiday together where there is NOTHING for them to worry about.  A holiday that costs more than your average holiday because accessibility features and extra care are required for it to even be possible to get there, let alone not worry about spending money once they arrive. 

In the face of MANY other things that Sharon could ask for, in true Sharon style she finally agreed  (with much badgering by me) that we could ask her community to help with a holiday many of us would take for granted:  a week on the Gold Coast with her kids to celebrate her 5Oth!!! An amazing milestone for this beautiful mum.
