Shawn's Healing Fund

Shawn Mead, has climbed roofs for Diamond Roofing for almost 20 years. Ironically, Shawn fell in his own kitchen on December 4, 2017. That accident severely injured his neck and spine. A condition known as Brown Sequard Syndrome has left him with extensive paralysis to his torso and limbs. Shawn has had multiple tests and procedures and has a long journey to a full recovery ahead of him.
After the accident on December 4th, Shawn was life watched to Via Christi hospital in Wichita where the neurosurgeon did an emergency surgery. Afterwards, a team of medical professionals did an assessment and interview and determined that Shawn was eligible to receive treatment at the world renowned Craig Hospital. It is one of two most specialized spine facilities in the nation. Shawn and his family are optimistic that they will receive a miracle as many others have at Craig. Shawn's ultimate goal is to walk again!
Shawn's impatient treatment will take many months and will be followed by outpatient treatment in Denver. This amazing program encourages his caregiver to remain patient with each day. Shawn's loving wife Laura has been at his side the whole time.
His kids, Sam and Ju'B will be present at each break and his parents, family, and friends visit often.
While insurance is covering much of Shawn's medical care; the missed work, travel, lodging, meals, and needed mobility and communication equipment are a huge burden financially on the family.
During this holiday season you might help spread and share a little Christmas cheer with the Mead Family. The family reluctantly agreed to a fundraiser knowing everyone has troubles, but also realize that many want to show support. For that generosity they are most grateful.
