Shawn's Duke Health Transplant Fund

In November 2016 I had severe gastric ulcer that ruptured and nearly took my life. After 5 days in the ICU I was diagnosed with severe liver disease and needed constant monitoring. I made a deal with the Lord while in hospital that if he got me through those 5 days and I didn't have to say goodbye to my wife and daughter, I would change my life and give him praise everyday and turn this over to his healing hands. 
        After 8 months of medication and blood monitoring it was determined that I needed to start liver transplant protocol. I researched the available transplant hospitals and narrowed my choices to Duke Health in Durham, NC and Emory in Atlanta, GA. After many doctors referrals and having my GI doctor connected at Duke I was referred to Duke to be assessed for acceptance into their liver transplant program. Duke's transplant team reviews your testing and condition to determine if you will be listed for a liver transplant. Praise be to God I was accepted.   So now the real journey begins. 
        Jenny and I are now having to drive to and from Duke for appointments, often requiring overnight hotel stays.   Between the hospital bills from November as well as the ones coming up from Duke we have exhausted our savings and still have to pay out of pocket for traveling costs.  If a liver becomes available, after transplant we will have to stay in Durham for 30-45 days after the surgery for follow ups with Duke.   Needless to say this is going to be a healthy expense.  We are making due the best we can but any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
