Shawnies Fight

In 2018 Shawnie and Josh found out they would be welcoming a little baby boy into their already family of 3. This news was the highlight of their lives and they were all so excited. They spent this time planning and picking out names, like any couple would. Carson was even excited to be a big brother. Everything was bright and happy till their world and reality changed. 

On December 2, 2018 Shawnie was rushed to the hospital at 35 weeks pregnant due to extreme pain when trying to walk or move. After arriving at the hospital doctor's started running tests trying to figure out the cause of the pain. The diagnosis did not come easy. They were soon told that Shawnie, at 26 years old,  had fractures in her back and that she had stage 4 bone and breast cancer. They noticed some tumors in her spine and hips as well as spots on the liver. The first concern was getting the baby out. 

On December 3, 2018 Baby Leo was welcomed to the world through an emergency C-section. He weighed 4 pounds and 12 ounces, but overall healthy! He was taken to special care but is doing wonderful! 

for the past almost 2 years, Shawnie has fought to stay through numerous treatments. Unfortunately the day has come that we start preparing to say goodbye. 

On September 27, 2020 Shawnie was moved to hospice and placed on comfort measures. We are once again asking for community support in caring for her 2 children and husband through the burial process. This has not been an easy road for any of them, and our main concern is their healing.
