Shawnee Living History Tour

THIS is a call to action!

WE, Caesar’s Ford Theatre, Inc, need all of your help to bring American Indian Tribal Citizens here to Ohio!

WE, Caesar’s Ford Theatre, Inc, are committed to changing how historical outdoor drama is performed, a departure from the old ways of dressing non-American Indians in “Red-face”, and a new beginning with authentic perspectives from actual Shawnee Tribe and Eastern Shawnee Tribe historical and cultural experts, Jeremy Turner and Talon Silverhorn.

OUR goal of $20,000.00 for this call to action over the next six months will find a short run of a staged reading from Kane Stratton, Talon Silverhorn, and Jeremy Turner’s outdoor drama tour, the “Shawnee Living History Tour”, coming to Greene and Clark Counties, Fall 2023.

THIS preview run will be a theatrically staged and casted production entirely of citizens of federally recognized Tribal Nations, with preference given to Shawnee participants from any of the three Shawnee communities, dressed in 18th-century presentation, and reading from the exact script from our planned tour. The preview production calls for the Shawnee language to be highlighted in the dialogue, so we, Caesar’s Ford Theatre, Inc, makes the commitment to produce the preview with only citizens of federally recognized Tribal Nations, Shawnee communities preferred, in these roles

The costs absorbed by your generosity shall be transportation, accommodations, food, and all things we can do to make it hospitable for the Tribal citizens who come out to Ohio. They are our guests, and this is their homeland. We wish to not further burden them financially to be part of this historic change. So please help us bring them home to better educate the Ohio public.
