Shawndale Coffey, 25, a Beaufort Fire Department volunteer firefighter suffered a medical emergency on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2020 while participating in the Carteret Community College Crystal Coast Fire Academy. Shawndale was airlifted to Vidant Medical in Greenville and continues to be treated there at this time.
Shawndale and his family welcomed a baby girl on Feb. 8, 2020. The Beaufort Fireman's Association is assisting with funds for medical bills, lodging and other expenses Shawndale and his family are incurring at this time.
