As many of you have heard, Shawn had a seizure the afternoon of Friday, October 5th while at work. He was standing when it happened and he sustained some significant injuries as a result of his fall to the ground. Shawn broke his nose and jaw, fractured his skull in a couple places, lost a few teeth, and has some teeth that are being held in place in hopes they can be saved. He also had some minor bleeding in his brain that subsided, thankfully. He currently has a number of rubber bands in his mouth holding his jaw shut and various teeth in place while they heal. He also has some plates that have been surgically inserted into his face. He is on a fluid diet for a few weeks, he can’t use a straw, and the rubber bands will be in his mouth for at least a few weeks. His jaw, nose, sinuses, teeth, and face overall have a lot of healing to do.
As if the recovery alone was not enough to handle, Shawn and his family (wife and boy/girl 4 yr old twins) are moving out of their house over the next couple weeks and into a new house. A number of individuals have asked how they can help, so we are setting up this GoFundMe page as an avenue to provide Shawn and his family the assistance they need during this difficult time.
What will the donations be used for?
==>Alexander’s Mobility Services has offered 4 movers to assist with packing up their PODs for FREE, as well as to fully move them into their new home for a highly discounted rate of $400-$500. Shawn and his family will not need to lift a finger to get moved in! ***10/15/18 Update - Alexander's Mobility Services has offered to cover the entire cost of the move! (minus minor fees they must charge by law) Thanks to Alexander's Mobility Services!
==>Snow Removal service for the upcoming winter months.
==>Transportation (Uber/Lyft) into work, occasionally, when he’s healed since he cannot drive for 3 months.
==>Remaining funds will be applied to medical expenses or other ideas to assist the family.
We all know that with Shawn’s overly positive attitude, he’ll have no problem pulling through this, we just want to make it a little easier on him. If you are financially able, please consider donating to assist Shawn and his family. We know it would be deeply appreciated!
