Shavona's Strength

When asked how she can be so strong, Shavona simply says "I wasn't given a choice."
Her strength is an inspiration but it is our goal to lighten her load so she can focus on what matters, her children.
Shavona has raised three kids after her separation and divorce. As anyone knows, a divorce is hard, even when both parents are involved. It was no longer a two income household and she struggled financially, yet always making sure her kids were taken care of and the bills were paid. She always came last. But three years ago that changed for Shavona, she met Devon.
Finally someone was putting her first, buying her flowers, taking her out for dinner and doing what he could to win her heart. Devon succeeded! They fell in love and together their future looked bright, sadly that changed in March of 2017.
While Devon was the light of every party and seemed to excude happiness, he struggled with his emotions. He loved deeply, laughed harder than anyone, but he also felt twice the pain and sadness. Struggles with mental health became too hard a cross for Devon to bare and on March 2, Devon left this world, but he also left behind a legacy.
Six weeks after his passing Shavona discovered she was three months pregnant. From the start this baby was a blessing, and was loved immediately by the people who surround Shavona and love and miss Devon.
In her grief she was given the gift of a little girl, yet she was left with the reality that she now has to raise her fourth child alone. Jorja Devon Dean-Belyk is due on October 24, 2017 and Shavona will go on maternity leave, causing her to lose 45% of her income. This will not cover her monthly bills or mortgage payments.
It is our goal to ensure her mortgage payment is made while she is off taking care of her new little girl, her miracle baby.
Shavona has always given so much to her children and our community. She works as a Community Support Worker for the women's crisis dcentre and aims to make a difference to those in need, now she is in need. Lets make a difference in her life.
