BRON DAVIS – FOREVER YOUNG
INTRO:
My name Is Samantha, and I am raising money for Cancer Assistance Network (CAN Assist) Deniliquin on behalf of my Aunty Bron. Here is a fraction of her story;
STORY:
Aunty Bron was a Cheeky, stubborn, strong, organised, smart, selfless, determined and kind-hearted lady, who fought against cancer for just over 2 years and sadly passed away in January at the age of 52.
She was born on the 29 February 1968 (thus making her a leap year kid (age 13)) and was one of seven children. Aunty Bron lived an adventurous life travelling around the countryside of NSW with her Husband Mark. She was a loving and devoted mother to three and grandmother to five.
Aunty Bron got the job of her dreams at St Michael’s Parish School in Deniliquin, where she got to teach and support young children every day. This job and her family meant everything to her.
In December 2018, her cancer journey started, and she was first diagnosed with Cancer. Once she heard this tragic news, she was on a mission to live as long and as happily as she possible could with those who she loved around her every step of the way.
In 2019 she went through two major operations to defuse the cancer from growing and started her chemotherapy having to travel from her home to the hospital (2 hours) every fortnight. During this time the treatment and travel got too much and she struggled to work. She unfortunately had to give up the job of her dreams to save her energy to continue her fight and that she did.
During this time, she had many ups and downs but kept fighting through every step of the way. In October 2020 when she was up visiting her family in Newcastle, she got the news that they were stopping her chemotherapy. Although, this news was heartbreaking she continued to fight. She promised her family that she will make it up again to Newcastle for Christmas and that she did.
Aunty Bron was a fighter and fought every day and continued to put others before herself. Even over the Christmas period she made sure everyone was catered for and got to spend time with her. With all the family excitement she was slightly revealed that the Christmas period was slowing down so she can get some more rest.
On Tuesday 06 January she was admitted into the Calvary Mater Hospital, as she was struggling to breathe. Even during the consult, she showed us her strength and told us not to worry as she will be coming back out. Sadly, this was not the case. Aunty Bron rapidly started to deuterate and at 11pm Thursday 07 January 2021 she passed away with the love of her life and her beautiful sister around her.
She was a beautiful lady who is missed by many every day and deserved to live a longer, happier life.
CAUSE:
As her 6-month anniversary is coming up in July, I would like to raise money and shave my head in honour of Aunty Bron.
She has shown me how to be strong and push through anything life throws at me.
I want to donate the money raised to the Cancer Assistance Network (CAN Assist) Deniliquin.
CAN Assist is committed to ensuring that all people, regardless of where they live in NSW, have access to cancer treatment and care. They provide accommodation, financial assistance, and practical support to people from rural and regional areas, they ensure that country people are given the same opportunities and treatment choices as those who live in city centres.
If you know someone or is someone who has been affected by cancer or even being on the countryside of NSW. Please donate to help those who need support to help them fight this nasty and cruel disease.
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
