shaving my head in memory of veryan! ♡

i feel like today is the day to put this out there. that i’m planning on shaving my head, because it would have a very close friends birthday today she is the main inspiration for this. ♡
i’m doing this to raise money for the mental health charity called MIND. also to raise awareness for mental health, i know there is plenty of awareness but it’s more awareness to reach out an talk about our struggles. mental health is something that we will all struggle with and be effected by in our life time and sharing this with others even just one person will lessen the load and enables them to be there and support you. because no matter how lonely and helpless you feel there is always hope and people you can talk to, me being one of those.
unfortunately i lost my cousin, (she’s the inspiration i mentioned earlier) her names veryan and she was such a bright beacon of joy in my life. i must say we did only see each other a few times but we talked a LOT! on social media and even more in letters. vee’s letters were the highlights of my weeks and in order to give someone else even a glimpse of that happiness in their life i’ll be donating my hair to the little princess trust, to be made into a wig.
at this moment in time it’s not clear when i will shave my head this is because i would like to use it as a learning opportunity for the children that i will be with in my placement at college, i am aiming for soon after september.
hopefully not too late in the year so it’s not to cold :) but needless to say i am very excited to shave my head but this time just give me more of a chance to grow my hair even longer!
