Shauna's rally to recovery

Donation protected
Another day, another dollar we think…… Shauna Elliott, part owner of the Bay Buoy Expresso, and has been telling the doctors she must get back to work. Shauna cares for her son, Owen, and must make ends meet regardless of her health. I am thankful I could see her last week during my visit from Arizona, and now I would like to assist her in this even though I am 1500 miles away.

I know Shauna would never ask for help, she’s a very hardworking, independent lady but in this time she is in need. Please considering helping in anyway. I know she has reached out to many through Facebook to help her, and I thank you all for stepping up. Being self-employed has its perks but in situations like this is can be so tough.

We keep busy, and push our limits, and work so hard for what we have, sometimes a sign from above stops us dead in our tracks. It’s the reminder to slow down, and take care of yourself first. Yesterday, (Friday) that happened to my dear sister, Shauna. She has been in pain for months. You would never know it because she always puts a smile on her face, and is driven daily to help others in any way possible. She enjoys motivating others by sharing her positive energy, and doing whatever it takes to put a smile on another’s face, even if is just for a moment. She is determined to surround your herself with positivity always.

Shauna has suffered from ovarian cyst on and off again for years. This is very common, and the pain that has been lingering was blamed on this. Shauna powered through it, and tried to do everything naturally to recover. Yesterday the pain was unbearable. Shauna went to ER, and after many tests was told she has an abscess around her appendix. Your appendix is typical 6-10 centimeters, and hers was at 19 as of last night. One would think, simply take the appendix out and move on but because of the abscess she has more complications.

She went in for surgery tonight, they have draining the abscess as much as possible, however they have added a drainage bag to continue this process for the next two weeks at least. After the infection is drained and begins to clear up they will complete another surgery to remove her appendix. This could be anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks. The doctors have told her she will be in the hospital till at least Wednesday if all goes as planned. They will teach her how to empty the bag, and have her return for checkups, and another surgery.

All funds will go directly to Shauna to help her with her financial situation, and lost income because of the unknown time she will need to recover.

Thank you all! Appreciate the thoughts and prayers. Please feel free to contact me by email or Facebook with any questions.
