Shauna whoopin brain cancer

Donation protected
On 8/24 I took Shauna into the ER because her headache was too bad and her right leg and hand were numb. They did a CT scan and found a pretty good size tumor. (48mm I think) They ambulanced her to IMC where she could be watched, get the MRI and prepped for emergency surgery the next day.

They started surgery at 4:30 on 8/25 and she was out around 8:30 or so. They removed the fluid filled cyst first as it was pushing the brain out of the skull. Then they dived into the tumor removing the majority of the mass, without getting into all her motor skills and functions.

They sent part of it to pathology while still in surgery so they knew how much they could take. It came back as astrocytoma in the glia family. Which is a aggressive tumor. (Later to find out it is a Glioblastoma grade 4) the tumor did show all the good markers for reacting to treatment. So, of the worst brain cancer it’s the best.

Chemo and radiation has started and will be doing this for 6wks.

We are also fighting this with diet, herbs, and other holistic things. We are raising money for alternative treatments to throw everything we have at this disease.

She has a very good outlook on it all of course having hard times or days. But she knows she’ll beat it with everyone that is supporting her and loves her.
