Dance Theater of Harlem Summer 2018

Shaumba-Subira has been accepted in to the 2018 Dance Theater of Harlem Summer Intensive in New York City.  The summer intensive "provides a challenging exploration of classical ballet in a diverse and nurturing environment."

Shaumba-Subira would not only have an amazing opportunity to train at one of the most prestigious dance schools in the world, but would also be able to make new friends from diverse backgrounds, live like a dancer in New York City, live in a dorm and really work hard to improve her dance technique while learning dance history at the same time.  She currently takes ballet classes and just started pointe a few months ago.  She also has experience in modern contemporary, African, hip hop, tap and jazz.  The money raised would cover all of her expenses including tuition, room and board and field trips.
